Islamorada,  Conch Republic …….Thursday March 10, 2011   In an unprecedented action the King of Conch announced that the Republic has called in world famed crocodile hunter  Crocodile Dumb Dumb  after a 9 – 12' croc joined the afternoon margarita floating party in the world famed margarita canal on plantation key.  It is not sure at this time weather the uninvited Croc drank the entire pitcher of drinks or just a single drink.  The floating cocktail party is by invitation only.  No record of an invitation for the croc was found.

Starting over 350 years ago by our forefathers this celebration continues today.  Forever linked to mischievous, mad behavior, the moon that hangs over this festivity certainly follows suit. As it rises, it illuminates the bay and casts a glow on the ever-expanding crowd. The celebration consists of many smaller gatherings in one as guests move freely between live bands and DJs, impromptu drum circles, capoeira demonstrations, fireworks and flame-throwing performances.

The mystery of this event continues as no guest has ever remembered the party after attending. It was believed in the past that the spirits of the moon erased all memory of the event. Others believed it was a plot by smugglers to keep the authorities busy, as they applied their trade.  Only by attending can you know the 

Its that time of year in the Republic  when the Dolphins come to visit. This week has been spectacular,  ths seas laid down and the Dolphins came in.  Captain AL Bunner lead the attack and dolphins where everyware off Islamirada.  The two day take included the above two Bulls and 35 schoolies between 22" and 35".  The fish where found in  250 to 750 feet of wateron Birds with skirted Ballyhoo.

In a highly political move, FEMA has decided to punish the independent people of the Conch Republic. In a recent letter from a goverment burarat ( a person who can’t survive in private industy so becomes a non productive goverment worker). threatened all Conchs with strong  United States Federal Goverment reprisals if they don’t  destroy the lower floors on their homes. The US  Fema official, in a nasty letter to local officials declaired that he, while sitting in his  Atlanta office, will not comprimise, all first floors will be removed or else.  To many long term Conch’s this is a replay of the 1982 federal blocade of the Conch Republic resulting in the revalution, and the formation of The Conch Republic.  Over the years the   U. S. goverment has used Border Patrol, Navy, Cost Guard, Army and Florida State police  personel to attempt to squash the free thinking people of the Conch Republic with no sucess.  Today Conch live under military rule imposed after their sucession in 1982.  The Royal Family has rerquested all Conchs are to stock up on essentials such as (Rum, Lobsters, Fish, Crab ect.) in case of an invasion.  All Members of the Conch National Guard are put on Alert.
